Artworks Project

The Cleveleys Artwork project is part of a wider project for the invigoration of the Wyre coast from Cleveleys to Fleetwood. Wyre Borough Council have successfully secured a significant grant from the Sea Change programme in competition against many other English seaside towns to be in a position to deliver this exciting work.

The Mythical Coastline project starts with a childrens storybook which will be specially written and based on the folklore of the area, and a copy given to every family in Wyre. The book will be illustrated through a series of public artworks along the promenade, and the Seafront Partnership will draw grant funding down in subsequent years to add to this outdoor gallery. From 2011 onwards, the Mythical Coastline will be celebrated through festival - and Cleveleys Sea Festival sets the scene this year as a focus for community involvement and engagement to create a fantastic event for all the family and which celebrates all that Cleveleys has to offer.
