Future Activities

The activities and projects that are planned for 2010 are just the start for Cleveleys Seafront Partnership, the start of an exciting future for the Cleveleys community and visitors from far and wide.

The award winning Peoples Promenade will be completed during the Spring and is due to be opened at Cleveleys Sea Festival on 4 July. The Partnership is in it's early days, as is the development of the whole Wyre coast through the Sea Change project which seeks to develop the Wyre Way trail from Cleveleys through to Fleetwood. Wyre Borough Council have secured funding to start the invigoration of the Wyre Coast from Cleveleys to Fleetwood. At Cleveleys this takes the form of the Mythic Coastline project which will start with the commissioning and writing of a children's book based on the folklore of the area which will then be illustrated through a public art trail on the promenade. From 2011 onwards the project will be celebrated through festival, of which Cleveleys Sea Festival is the starting point.

To start 2010, the Partnership has a new Chair, has re-organised its structure to enable it to deliver its objectives, and has established a number of Task Groups in which volunteers can join and become involved in the life of Cleveleys and the promenade.

It's all exciting! There's lots of potential both for the Partnership and Cleveleys, and we are all looking forward to making our mark for generations to come. Anyone is welcome to contribute and get involved and volunteers of all types are welcome!
